Butter Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour
Directions
- In a mixing bowl combine butter with sugar by gradually adding sugar to combine
- Beat sugar-butter mixture until light and fluffy
- Beat in egg and almond extract
- Gradually fold in flour
- Chill dough in refrigerator to ease handling
- Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness
- Cut dough into desired shapes. Be sure to flour the cookie cutters.
- Place on baking sheets and bake 8-12 minutes
Yields 7-8 dozen cookies
