Cake Donuts

Ingredients

• 3 1/3 cups flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 3 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt (iodized)
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 2 tablespoons shortening
• 2 eggs
• 3/4 cup milk

Directions

1. Combine all ingredients to form a dough
2. Cut dough into donut shapes using circular cutters
3. In a large vessel, heat vegetable oil to frying temperatures
4. Fry donuts in small batches to a golden consistency

Makes 2 dozen donuts
